Huston noted that while the medals appear impressive initially, they fail to maintain their condition after minimal wear, stating, "These Olympic medals look great when they are brand new, but... they’re apparently not as high quality as you would think." The medals, produced by the Paris jewelry firm Chaumet, incorporate iron from the Eiffel Tower, yet Huston suggests they may be more suitable for display than for wearing. Following his viral post, the manufacturer announced plans to replace Huston's medal and investigate the cause of its damage.
