Body of Former England Rugby Player Found

Tom Voyce, a former England rugby player, has been confirmed deceased after a body was found in the River Aln near Alnwick, Northumberland, following his disappearance during Storm Darragh. The 43-year-old was reported missing after failing to return home on December 7, and police believe he was swept away while attempting to cross a flooded Abberwick Ford in his Toyota Hilux. A major search operation involving police, drones, and volunteers commenced, leading to the grim discovery on December 12. Chief Superintendent Helena Barron of Northumbria Police expressed condolences to Voyce's family and emphasized the challenging conditions faced by search teams. Voyce, who earned nine caps for England and had a successful club career, was remembered fondly by the rugby community as they mourn his tragic loss. Authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
