Robert Cole Parmalee, 40, has been arrested and charged with stalking and harassing Paige Bueckers, a UConn basketball star. He was detained on a $100,000 bond after allegedly making threatening social media posts and sending bizarre emails to university officials, claiming to be part of a royal family and expressing a desire to marry Bueckers. Parmalee, who was previously arrested on an unrelated arson warrant, had been tracked by UConn police since June due to alarming communications. His posts included fake wedding invitations and declarations of his intentions to propose to Bueckers, along with disturbing threats about his own life if he could not be with her. Bueckers has expressed fear for her safety and that of her family and teammates. A judge has ordered Parmalee to undergo intense pretrial supervision, including GPS tracking, with his next court appearance scheduled for October 22.
