Queens of Stone Age Releases Paris Catacombs Concert Audio

Queens of the Stone Age will release the audio album of their 'Alive in the Catacombs' concert film on June 13, with a limited-edition vinyl pressing set for August 22. The performance, filmed in July 2024 within the historic Paris Catacombs, marks the first time a band has played live in this unique location, an idea pursued by vocalist Josh Homme for 18 years. The stripped-down set features the band with a three-piece string section and unconventional percussion, performing a carefully selected setlist reimagined for the haunting environment surrounded by millions of human remains. The vinyl edition is limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies and includes a 24-page booklet with behind-the-scenes photos by Andreas Neumann. The concert film and documentary, 'Alive in Paris and Before,' were released earlier in June and have received critical acclaim for capturing the intimate and atmospheric performance. The audio release, recorded live with no overdubs, is produced by Mark Rankin alongside Homme and bassist Michael Shuman.
