India Hosts World Telecommunications Assembly on 6G

India has emerged as a significant player in the global 6G technology landscape, currently ranking among the top six countries in patent filings related to 6G. The country will host the World Telecommunications Standardisation Assembly (WTSA) from October 15-24, marking the first time this event is held in Asia, where delegates from 190 countries will discuss future standards for 6G, AI, and big data. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims for India to contribute significantly to the design and deployment of 6G by 2030, supported by initiatives like the 'Bharat 6G Vision' and funding for next-generation research. With 188 to over 200 patents filed, India outpaces several nations in the 6G patent race, trailing only behind leaders such as China and the US. This advancement reflects India's commitment to becoming a technology leader, fostering intellectual property development in cutting-edge areas such as blockchain and communication technologies.
