PFL Africa Debuts July 2025 at GrandWest Arena

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) will launch PFL Africa, its third regional league, with an inaugural event on July 26, 2025, at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa. The debut will feature the start of an eight-man tournament in the heavyweight and bantamweight divisions, as well as headline bouts including Johnny Eblen vs. Costello van Steenis and Dakota Ditcheva vs. Sumiko Inaba in the PFL Champions Series. Francis Ngannou will serve as chairman of PFL Africa as part of his agreement with the league. PFL Africa has secured distribution partnerships with Canal+ and SuperSport, targeting up to 90% coverage of African households, and will offer a mobile-first platform for broader access. The launch comes as interest in African MMA grows, with organizations like the UFC also expanding into the continent. Elias Schulze has been appointed as general manager to lead local operations.
