Israel Kills 20 Top IRGC Commanders in Multiple Strikes Across Iran

Israeli airstrikes have targeted and killed numerous high-ranking commanders of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including Mohammad Kazemi, head of the IRGC intelligence directorate, and his deputy, as well as Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, and other senior officials. These strikes have significantly damaged Iran’s military leadership and infrastructure, with reports indicating attacks on nuclear-related sites, including a facility in Isfahan allegedly involved in uranium enrichment. The Israeli military stated that about 20 top Iranian commanders have been killed since the operation began, including the heads of military intelligence and the IRGC’s ballistic missile array. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets, escalating tensions and raising fears of a broader regional conflict. Tehran has also implemented measures such as keeping metro stations open 24/7 as shelters for civilians amid ongoing strikes. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons, justifying the preemptive strikes as necessary to prevent Iran's nuclear weaponization.
