Roadworks, Crashes Disrupt Commutes; NJ Child Killed

Planned roadwork and repairs are disrupting commutes in several U.S. regions: North Caldwell will have paving on Fox Run with closures and no-parking rules on Oct. 3, 2025 (weather permitting), and Jackson Street in Dansville is closed from Mason to South Street through Saturday for repairs. Northern New Jersey motorists faced multiple incidents — an overpass closure in Paramus, lane closures on NJ‑3 in Clifton, and an overturned tractor‑trailer on the Turnpike — snarling commutes across the region. A deadly pedestrian crash at Oak Street and Ramapo Valley Road in Oakland killed four-year-old Jalen Gomez and hospitalized three other children, highlighting safety shortfalls amid rising pedestrian deaths in New Jersey.
