Evanston Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Domestic Shooting
A 57-year-old man, John Ross Sr., has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder after allegedly firing multiple shots at a van carrying his family members during a domestic dispute in Evanston, Illinois. The incident occurred after a verbal altercation, with Ross reportedly intoxicated at the time. Although the van was struck by gunfire, no injuries were reported. Police recovered multiple shell casings and ballistic evidence from the scene and found ammunition during a search of Ross's residence, but no firearms. Ross was taken into custody without incident and appeared in court following his arrest. An uninvolved family member was safely evacuated from the residence during the response.
