NBC Opens Casting For Civilian 'The Traitors' Season 2026

NBC is launching a civilian version of the hit reality competition "The Traitors," expanding the popular series beyond its previous celebrity-focused seasons. Production for this all-civilian edition will begin in 2026, with applications open to those 21 and older who have a valid passport, and the show will continue to be hosted by Alan Cumming. The format involves contestants divided into two groups—Faithfuls and Traitors—competing to either unmask the Traitors or eliminate the Faithful, all while building a $250,000 prize fund. The move to a non-celebrity cast aims to level the playing field and create fresh dynamics, as the civilian players will not carry preconceived notions often associated with reality TV veterans. This iteration will air on NBC concurrently with the Peacock series, which has already been renewed for seasons four and five, continuing the series' success and critical acclaim.
