Poonamchand Yadav, the father of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, passed away at the age of 100 on Tuesday in Ujjain after a prolonged illness, prompting condolences from various political leaders. He had been hospitalized for a week prior to his death. Known for his resilience, Poonamchand dedicated his life to hard work, having started as a diamond mill worker before opening his own food shops and continuing to work into his centenarian years. Chief Minister Yadav, who was attending a BJP event in Bhopal, rushed to Ujjain upon receiving the news. Leaders from both the BJP and Congress, including Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh, expressed their sorrow and condolences. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday near the Bhukhi Mata temple on the banks of the Shipra river.
