Indian filmmaker Soham Shah has filed a federal lawsuit against Netflix, alleging that the South Korean series 'Squid Game' is a blatant rip-off of his 2009 film 'Luck'. Shah claims that both works share strikingly similar plots, characters, themes, and sequences of events, focusing on desperate individuals participating in deadly games for a cash prize. Netflix has firmly denied the allegations, stating that 'Squid Game' was independently created by Hwang Dong Hyuk. Shah is seeking unspecified damages and an injunction against Netflix for copyright infringement. The lawsuit comes as Netflix prepares to release the second season of 'Squid Game' on December 26, 2024.
