Manchester United Assign No.10 Shirt to Matheus Cunha Amid Rashford Transfer Uncertainty

Manchester United have assigned the No. 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha following his £62.5 million transfer from Wolves, as Marcus Rashford has informed the club of his desire to leave this summer. Rashford, who wore the No. 10 shirt since 2018, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but has not secured a permanent move, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich among the interested clubs. Alongside Rashford, four other senior players—Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho—have also expressed their intent to leave, and the club has allowed them to delay their return to preseason training while they seek transfers. United's manager Ruben Amorim is focusing on strengthening the attack, with Cunha expected to be a key figure, while the club continues efforts to sign additional attacking players. Despite some initial ambiguity about Cunha's squad number, official confirmation has been made that he will wear No. 10 at Old Trafford, a number he previously donned at Wolves and Hertha. The club remains open to loan offers for Rashford but emphasizes that all players will return if transfers are not completed by late July.
