Daughters of American Revolution Honor 16 High School Seniors for Good Citizenship

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapters across various regions have recognized high school seniors with the prestigious DAR Good Citizen Award, celebrating qualities such as dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. The Swallow Cliff Chapter honored students from local high schools for their achievements, including Ameera Zaied, who advanced to the DAR District IV competition. Similarly, the Esther McCrory Chapter in Amarillo honored 16 seniors and awarded scholarships, with Gabriella Dishong receiving the first-place scholarship of $450. In the South Plains area, the Nancy Anderson and Francis Rainey Chapters hosted a ceremony to honor seniors from 38 high schools, providing awards, pins, and scholarship opportunities. Several students also excelled in essay contests related to American heritage and history. These initiatives exemplify DAR's commitment to fostering good citizenship and supporting educational endeavors.
