King Charles Initiates Removal of Prince Andrew's Titles

King Charles has initiated the formal removal of Prince Andrew’s royal style, titles and honours; he will no longer be known as His Royal Highness and is to be styled Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. The move is tied to fallout over Andrew’s relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and follows long‑standing allegations by the late Virginia Giuffre that she was forced to have sex with Andrew as a teenager — claims the prince has repeatedly denied. Andrew is also reportedly required to vacate Royal Lodge, where he had not paid rent for two decades. Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year and published a posthumous account, was praised by her family for her “truth and extraordinary courage,” and they called the title removal a “victory.” Her relatives and legal representatives said they will continue pursuing accountability for others connected to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
