Falcons Sign Peterman to Practice Squad
The Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran quarterback Nathan Peterman to their practice squad, releasing offensive lineman Julién Davenport to make room. Peterman, a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, has had stints with the Raiders, Bears, and Saints. Known for his journeyman career, Peterman has completed 53.1% of his passes in 15 games, throwing for 712 yards with four touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He joins a Falcons quarterback room that includes starter Kirk Cousins and rookie Michael Penix Jr. The move provides additional depth following the trade of backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke to the Los Angeles Chargers. Peterman's last preseason performance included completing 12 of 19 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown.
