Indiana Media Outlets Celebrate Wins at Annual Journalism Awards

Several Indiana news organizations and student media received top honors at the annual Indiana Society of Professional Journalists awards. Mirror Indy was named 'Story of the Year' for its investigation into abuse allegations at Options Behavioral Health Hospital and also won the A-Mark Prize for Investigative Journalism. IndyStar was recognized for its reporting on sexual harassment in Indiana politics, earning second place in the A-Mark category and nine additional first-place awards across various beats. The Indiana Capital Chronicle’s Senior Reporter Casey Smith was named Journalist of the Year, with the publication receiving seven total awards, including best journalism website. Capital B Gary was recognized with six awards, including top honors for government, politics, and feature reporting during its first year. The Indiana Daily Student led college media with 20 awards for excellence in student journalism, highlighting the strength and diversity of reporting across the state.
