Universal Plans 40th Anniversary Back to Future 4K Releases, Theatrical Re-Release

Universal Pictures is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the iconic sci-fi film trilogy Back to the Future with multiple new releases and a theatrical re-release. On October 14, 2025, a limited edition 4K Ultra HD Trilogy Gift Set will be released exclusively on Amazon, featuring all three films in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital formats, along with collectible items such as a Flux Capacitor SteelBook, a Gibson Mini Guitar replica, an OUTATIME metal license plate, and other memorabilia. Individual steelbook editions of each film will also be available, as well as a standard 4K trilogy set. The trilogy will return to theaters nationwide starting October 31 in premium large screen formats including Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and D-Box, marking the first time the films will be shown on the world's largest screens. These new editions include over 90 minutes of all-new bonus features and a total of more than 9 hours of bonus content, with special features like reflections from co-writer/producer Bob Gale and behind-the-scenes stories from the cast and crew. The celebration honors the cultural impact and legacy of Back to the Future, which originally debuted in 1985 and remains a beloved classic.
