Walsall Sign Wing-Back Courtney Clarke From Eastbourne

Walsall has signed 22-year-old wing-back Courtney Clarke from Eastbourne Borough on a two-year contract with an option for a further year, following his decision to reject a new deal with the National League South club. Clarke, who also had a youth spell at Derby County, impressed last season by scoring three goals and providing four assists in 37 appearances, helping Eastbourne finish just one point behind the league champions. Walsall head coach Mat Sadler praised Clarke as a young, hungry, and explosive athlete who fits the club's strategy of recruiting and developing promising talent from lower leagues. Former manager Murray, who coached Clarke at Eastbourne, highlighted his big-game mentality and expressed interest in seeing Clarke compete for a spot alongside other players like Connor Barrett at Walsall.
