Whitecaps win 3-2 over St. Louis with Müller's stoppage-time penalty
Thomas Müller scored a dramatic penalty in the 14th minute of second-half stoppage time to secure a 3-2 victory for the Vancouver Whitecaps over St. Louis City. This goal marked Müller's first in his first MLS start and only second appearance since joining from Bayern Munich. St. Louis City took an early lead with Eduard Löwen scoring in the 14th minute, and João Klauss added a second goal in the 73rd minute. Vancouver equalized twice, first through Brian White’s penalty just before halftime and then substitute Daniel Ríos in the 79th minute. The win puts Vancouver third in the Western Conference as they aim for a third consecutive playoff appearance. St. Louis City, struggling on the road with a 1-10-3 record, will next face Houston Dynamo, while Vancouver hosts Philadelphia Union next.
