San Jose Police Arrest Erik Enriquez in New Year's Eve Shooting
San Jose police arrested 19-year-old Erik Enriquez on multiple charges, including attempted murder, after he allegedly shot at a rideshare vehicle on New Year’s Eve, injuring one of the three women inside. The incident occurred as the women entered the vehicle and the suspect approached with a firearm, firing as the driver attempted to leave the scene. Enriquez was apprehended shortly after the shooting for an unrelated crime, during which he was found in possession of the same gun believed to have been used in the shooting. Following an investigation, police executed a search warrant at his residence, uncovering an un-serialized assault rifle. He is currently held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail, and his bail is set at $200,000. Authorities continue to seek additional information from the public regarding the case.
