MLB Division Series Opens With Four Matchups
The 2025 MLB Division Series opens Saturday with four matchups — Cubs at Brewers (2:08 p.m. ET, TBS), Yankees at Blue Jays (4:08 p.m. ET, FS1), Dodgers at Phillies (6:38 p.m. ET, TBS) and Tigers at Mariners (8:38 p.m. ET, FS1) — as full ALDS and NLDS schedules were published. The Brewers routed the Cubs 9-3 in Game 1, highlighted by a franchise-tying six-run first inning, Freddy Peralta’s nine strikeouts and a 13-hit attack, though Jackson Chourio exited early with hamstring tightness. The Dodgers, 2024 World Series champions, swept the Reds in the wild-card round and will face the Phillies, while the Yankees advanced over Boston behind rookie Cam Schlittler. Former Utah lefty Tanner Banks earned a postseason roster spot with the Phillies and is expected to be a key bullpen piece after a 2025 regular season that included a 3.07 ERA and a career-high 61 strikeouts. In college baseball, Stanford was named to the 2026 REV Entertainment College Baseball Series in Surprise, Ariz., facing Arizona, Michigan and Oregon State, and Tulane released its fall schedule with exhibitions, an alumni game and a Fall World Series in November. Other items: Nebraska volleyball will begin 2025 under new coach Dani Busboom-Kelly; the Arizona Lottery published prize-claim procedures after large jackpots; and 247Sports reminded readers its content is for entertainment, not gambling advice.
