On September 15, 2024, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai on his 116th birth anniversary. Stalin highlighted Annadurai's significant contributions to social change and the establishment of the first non-Congress government in Tamil Nadu in 1967. In addition to paying respects at Annadurai's statue, Stalin unveiled a new party emblem to commemorate the DMK's 75th anniversary. Palaniswami praised Annadurai as a guiding principle for the Dravidian movement and urged his party members to work towards an egalitarian society. Meanwhile, Stalin returned from a trip to the U.S. where he finalized 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 7,618 crore, promising to create over 11,500 jobs in Tamil Nadu. The visit also included discussions with Ford Motor Company about restarting operations in Tamil Nadu.
