Inclement Weather Causes Widespread Delays Across Delaware and Surrounding Areas February 6

Due to inclement winter weather expected on February 6, various institutions across Delaware and neighboring regions have announced delayed openings and cancellations. The University of Delaware and New Castle County offices will open at 10 a.m., while Rider University will delay its opening until 9:30 a.m., canceling classes that start before 9:45 a.m. In Maryland, Allegany College will open at 11 a.m., and Washington County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay. Fairfax and Fauquier County Public Schools in Virginia will also open two hours late. Additionally, trash collection in Cumberland has been suspended due to the weather conditions. Institutions are advising the public to use caution while traveling.
