Katie Boulter Exits Canadian Open in Third Round

Despite the loss, Boulter's performance was seen as encouraging ahead of the US Open. Earlier in the tournament, Boulter advanced to the third round after Beatriz Haddad Maia retired due to injury. Coco Gauff also suffered a surprising defeat to Diana Shnaider, losing 6-4 6-1, and admitted to struggling physically and mentally. Both Boulter and Gauff plan to compete in the Cincinnati Open next week as a final warm-up before the US Open.
