San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, ending his 2024 season after just seven games. The injury occurred during the 49ers' 28-16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs when Aiyuk was tackled late in the second quarter. Aiyuk had been struggling with a slow start to the season, finishing with 25 receptions for 374 yards. This injury adds to a growing list of injury woes for the 49ers, who have already lost key players such as running back Christian McCaffrey and fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The team is now considering options in the free agent and trade markets to fill the gap left by Aiyuk. He had signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the team prior to the season after a contract dispute.
