Bus Crash Injures 17 Band Members in Pa.
A charter bus carrying the Greater Scranton Black Diamonds Pipe Band collided with an unoccupied tractor-trailer in northeastern Pennsylvania after participating in a St. Patrick's Day parade. The incident occurred on Interstate 84 near Jefferson Township shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, resulting in minor injuries to 17 passengers. The bus appeared to lose control on an off-ramp before crashing into the parked trailer, which was transporting steel pipes. Emergency responders, including seven ambulances, quickly arrived to transport injured individuals to local hospitals. Weather was ruled out as a cause, and the investigation into the accident's circumstances is ongoing. The band canceled Monday’s group events, although some members considered solo performances.
