Typhoon Yagi Devastates Southeast Asia

Typhoon Yagi has caused widespread devastation across Southeast Asia, with Vietnam bearing the brunt of the damage. The death toll in Vietnam has reached at least 233, with 128 people still missing and over 800 injured. The storm has triggered severe flash floods and landslides, particularly affecting northern provinces like Lao Cai and the capital Hanoi, where many areas remain submerged. In neighboring countries, Thailand reported nine deaths, and Myanmar confirmed 17 fatalities, with over 50,000 people displaced. The disaster has also caused extensive damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and homes, displacing millions of children and disrupting access to essential services. China has been assisting Vietnam by storing water in reservoirs to help mitigate flooding in the Red River region.
