Misty Noel Pleads Guilty to Theft, Tax Evasion in Clark County Case

Misty Noel, the estranged wife of former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel, has pleaded guilty to five counts of theft and five counts of tax evasion as part of a plea deal, concluding the criminal cases against the Noel family. She admitted to using over $600,000 in funds from New Chapel EMS and the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association for personal purchases, including vacations, makeup, and clothing, while also failing to declare the stolen funds on her taxes. Under the proposed agreement, Misty faces a six-year sentence, with 1.5 years to be served in prison and 4.5 years suspended to probation, and must pay over $690,000 in restitution to the affected organizations and the Indiana Department of Revenue. Her sentencing is scheduled for July 3, pending judicial approval of the plea deal. The case follows earlier convictions of her husband Jamey Noel, who is serving 12-15 years for related felonies, and her daughter Kasey, who received a nine-month sentence for theft and tax evasion. Misty Noel has since filed for divorce as the family's legal troubles have unfolded.
