Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman will score the music for the upcoming series 'Gandhi,' directed by Hansal Mehta, with the announcement coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. The series is based on Ramachandra Guha's works, detailing Gandhi's early years as a law student in London and civil rights activist in South Africa. Rahman expressed his honor in scoring this significant story, emphasizing Gandhi's evolution and experiments with truth. Sameer Nair from Applause Entertainment highlighted that the series aims to resonate globally, showcasing the triumph of the human spirit. Mehta described the show as a deeply human retelling of Gandhi's life, aiming for authenticity and emotional depth.
