British Father Drowns Playing with Grandchildren in Cyprus Before Son’s Wedding

Despite guests and paramedics administering CPR, John did not resurface, and the wedding proceeded the next day with attendees paying respects to his memory. The family, grieving and facing significant funeral and repatriation costs, has launched a GoFundMe campaign that has raised over £5,000, while also encountering difficulties with local authorities and confusion over postmortem procedures. Sean praised his father as a family-oriented man who loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, and the family is supporting John's wife, who has moved in with them. There were additional challenges during the emergency, including resort staff struggling to locate a defibrillator and hospital staff requiring passport details that were locked in the hotel safe, delaying treatment. The family is appealing for donations to cover the costs of bringing John home and funeral expenses, expressing gratitude for the support received during this difficult time.
