India Tests Long-Range Hypersonic Missile

India has successfully tested a domestically developed long-range hypersonic missile, marking a significant milestone in its military capabilities and placing it among a select group of nations, including the US, China, and Russia. The missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is capable of carrying payloads over 1,500 km and achieving speeds six times that of sound. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the test as a 'historic moment' and a 'stupendous' achievement for India, emphasizing its entry into an elite league of countries with advanced military technologies. The test-firing took place from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, confirming successful terminal manoeuvres and high-accuracy impact.
