Elon Musk's Montessori-style school, Ad Astra, located in Bastrop, Texas, is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year, targeting children aged 3-9. Ad Astra, which translates to 'to the stars' in Latin, plans to admit up to 48 students, with a merit-based enrollment process to ensure equal opportunity. This initiative follows Musk's previous attempt to create a similar school in Los Angeles, which closed in 2020. The school will begin operations on the site of a former horse ranch, part of Musk's expanding ventures in Texas, including SpaceX and the Boring Company.
