The film, produced by Shelton's Lucky Horseshoe Productions and Anomaly Content & Entertainment, will begin filming in January 2025 and is directed by Academy Award-nominated Zach Heinzerling. It aims to explore Whitley's profound impact on country music, his struggles with addiction, and his relationship with fellow singer Lorrie Morgan, who will contribute personal footage. The documentary will also feature archival footage from the Country Music Hall of Fame and highlight Whitley's roots in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.
