Mercedes CLA EV Delivers 500-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charge

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new CLA, its first all-electric model built on the brand's MMA platform, promising enhanced range and performance. The CLA 250+ boasts an impressive WLTP range of up to 492 miles and features an 85-kWh battery, while the CLA 350 4MATIC offers a dual-motor setup with rapid acceleration capabilities. This model introduces the in-house developed Mercedes-Benz Operating System, which supports regular over-the-air updates and advanced navigation features powered by Google Maps. The CLA also emphasizes efficiency with a drag coefficient of just 0.21 and aims to make EVs more accessible by pricing the hybrid version similarly to its combustion counterparts. Both electric and hybrid variants are expected to address charging anxiety, with fast charging capabilities allowing for significant range recovery in just 10 minutes. Mercedes-Benz's commitment to sustainability is highlighted by a 30% reduction in the carbon footprint of its battery cells compared to previous models.
