2025 Maxwell Award Watch List Announced

The Maxwell Football Club has released its 80-player watch list for the 2025 Maxwell Award, recognizing college football's most outstanding player. Notable nominees include UNLV running back Jai'Den Thomas, Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski, Florida's DJ Lagway, Clemson's Cade Klubnik and Antonio Williams, and Virginia Tech's Kyron Drones and Terion Stewart. Additional standouts from Arizona State, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma are named, with a broad representation across major conferences. The ACC and SEC lead with 17 players each, while Penn State is the only school with three nominees. Semifinalists will be named November 11, finalists on November 25, and the winner will be announced December 11, 2025. Gronowski, a former FCS standout, and Jaydn Ott, a transfer from Cal, are among the top players drawing preseason attention.
