New Year's Eve Celebration Set for Times Square

New York City is set to host its iconic New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square, featuring a star-studded lineup including the Jonas Brothers, Carrie Underwood, and TLC. The event begins at 6 p.m. ET with the lighting of the famous ball, which will descend at 11:59 p.m. to usher in 2025, accompanied by a performance of John Lennon’s 'Imagine' by Mickey Guyton. This year marks the last drop of the current New Year’s Eve ball, which will be displayed in a museum afterward. Hosts Ryan Seacrest, Rita Ora, and others will guide the festivities, which are expected to attract about one million attendees and millions of TV viewers nationwide. The celebration will showcase a total of 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles on the ball, symbolizing goodwill and hospitality. The night will culminate with 3,000 pounds of confetti released over Times Square at midnight.
