Nebraska Chief Justice Heavican to Retire

Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Heavican announced his retirement effective October 31, concluding an 18-year tenure marked by numerous judicial advancements. Appointed by Gov. Dave Heineman in 2006 and retained by voters three times, Heavican emphasized modernizing court procedures, enhancing juvenile justice, and making the judiciary more accessible. Gov.
