Warwick Davis Returns As Flitwick In HBO Harry Potter Series
Warwick Davis is returning to reprise his role as Professor Filius Flitwick in HBO's new Harry Potter TV series, marking the first time a film actor from the original franchise has reprised their role on the small screen. The series, currently in production and set to debut in 2027, features a new cast for many characters including Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Other cast additions include Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens and William Nash as Draco Malfoy’s cronies Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, and Leigh Gill as Griphook, a role previously played by Davis in the films. The show aims to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novels, with Francesca Gardiner as writer and executive producer, and Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. The adult cast includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The production is being filmed at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden and various London locations and is executive produced by Rowling along with other key figures from the original film production team.
