Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas Arrives at Port Canaveral

Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship at 248,663 gross tons, has arrived at Port Canaveral, marking its first visit to the U.S. The Icon-class ship features more than 2,800 staterooms, 40 dining and drinking venues, the largest waterpark at sea, an ice rink, laser tag, and family-friendly play areas. The ship will undertake special showcase voyages before its maiden seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises begin, with an official naming and christening ceremony by music icon Diana Ross scheduled for August 20, 2025. Port Canaveral is hosting a free public wave-out event called the “Star”-Studded Sailabration on August 16, coinciding with the ship's inaugural departure. Additionally, Star of the Seas met its sister ship Icon of the Seas for the first time at Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, creating a historic moment as the two largest cruise ships in the world were side by side. Star of the Seas will make its first official visit to CocoCay on August 17 during its initial showcase sailing.
