Congo Sentences 37 to Death in Coup Case

A military court in the Democratic Republic of Congo has sentenced 37 individuals, including three Americans, to death for their involvement in a failed coup attempt in May. The coup, led by Christian Malanga, targeted the presidential palace and resulted in six deaths, including Malanga's during the attack. The convicted, who also include nationals from the UK, Belgium, and Canada, have the right to appeal their sentences on charges including terrorism, murder, and criminal association.
