Helicopter Crash in Nigeria Leaves Three Dead

A helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation, engaged by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), crashed on October 24, 2024, while en route from Port Harcourt to the FPSO Antan oil facility, resulting in the confirmed deaths of at least three individuals. The helicopter, which lost contact at approximately 11:22 a.m., had eight people on board, including six passengers and two crew members. Search and rescue operations are currently underway, with three bodies recovered so far. NNPC has contacted relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Aviation, to assist in the investigation. The company expressed its condolences and commitment to supporting the ongoing rescue efforts. The situation remains critical as the search continues for the remaining passengers.
