Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024, scheduled from August 15 to 25, will showcase a diverse lineup of films, including notable Bengali and Tamil entries. Bengali cinema will feature films directed by Srijit Mukherji and Suman Ghosh, highlighting themes of human relationships and emotional connections. In the Tamil segment, Siddharth's acclaimed thriller 'Chithha,' which explores a man's search for his missing niece, will be screened alongside 'Neela Nira Sooriyan,' a film about a high school teacher's transition, and the short film 'Starch,' which focuses on an immigrant mother's struggles. The festival will also honor actor Ram Charan as the Ambassador for Indian Art and Culture, celebrating the rich diversity of Indian cinema. The IFFM promotes cultural exchange and will include awards recognizing outstanding contributions to the film industry. This year’s theme, 'All Our Voices,' underscores inclusivity and diverse perspectives within society.
