Queens Church Fire Forces Easter Mass Relocation

A devastating three-alarm fire broke out at St. Edmund Church in Breezy Point, Queens, on Saturday afternoon, just hours before Easter Sunday. Over 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded, with the blaze burning through the roof and charring the sanctuary’s interior. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries, but no civilians were hurt, and responders saved some cherished religious statues. St. Edmund Church, part of the Blessed Trinity Parish and a vital spiritual home for the local community, was forced to move its Easter Mass to a nearby church due to the damage.
