SAPD Investigates Bomb Threat, Arson at Northeast Side Chacho's
Early Sunday morning, a Chacho's restaurant on San Antonio's Northeast Side was evacuated following a bomb threat and an attempted arson involving an incendiary device. The San Antonio Police Department and Fire Department responded promptly, extinguishing a small fire caused by the device. Authorities identified a former disgruntled employee as the suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene on foot immediately after the fire started. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made so far. The restaurant had recently resumed its 24/7 drive-thru operations after a prolonged closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Police and arson investigators continue to investigate the incident.
