ICC T20 review committee

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formed a three-member committee to review the conduct and delivery of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, following significant financial losses exceeding $20 million during the tournament co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. The review committee, comprising Roger Twose, Lawson Naidoo, and Imran Khawaja, will report back to the ICC Board later this year. Additionally, USA Cricket and Cricket Chile have been put on notice for 12 months due to their non-compliance with ICC Membership Criteria, specifically regarding their governance and administrative structures. The ICC Board has emphasized the need for oversight, setting up a Normalisation Committee to monitor USA Cricket's compliance roadmap. The conference also confirmed plans to expand the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup from 12 to 16 teams in 2030, highlighting the ICC's commitment to equity in the sport. These developments were discussed during the ICC Annual Conference held in Colombo, which focused on capitalizing on cricket's inclusion in future Olympic events.
