Rutgers, Missouri Wrestling Sweep Season Openers Dominate Quad, Dual Meets

The 2025–26 college wrestling season got off to a strong start for both Rutgers and Missouri. Rutgers, ranked No. 15, dominated a quad meet at Jersey Mike's Arena by sweeping Bloomsburg, Centenary, and Gardner-Webb with a combined 28 out of 30 match wins, including seven technical falls and five pins, showcasing depth and key performances from newcomers and returning stars. Meanwhile, Missouri Wrestling opened their season with a perfect 3-0 record at the Missouri Duals held at Hearnes Center, achieving decisive shutout victories against Drury and Central Methodist, and a commanding win over Maryville, losing only one individual match. Multiple Missouri wrestlers stood out, such as Max Mayfield, Evan Bates, Zeke Seltzer, and J Conway, all finishing undefeated in their bouts, with several matches ending in pins, technical falls, and major decisions. Both teams demonstrated impressive depth and dominance early in the season, setting a strong tone for the year ahead. Missouri will next host the Tiger Style Invitational, continuing their home season momentum.
