Indiana University Terminates Athletic Trainer Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations

Garl's departure comes amid a federal lawsuit filed by former players who allege that he ignored warnings about Dr. Bradford Bomba Sr., who is accused of conducting unnecessary and invasive medical examinations. While Garl has not been directly accused of performing these examinations, he is named in the lawsuit for allegedly overlooking the abuse. Plaintiffs' attorney Kathleen DeLaney noted that they had requested Garl's removal prior to the termination, which followed an internal investigation. Garl's attorney emphasized that his client appreciates his long career and has not been implicated in any wrongdoing related to the allegations.
