Austin Target Parking Lot Shooting Kills Three Suspect in Custody
A gunman opened fire in the parking lot of a Target store on Research Boulevard in Austin, Texas, resulting in three deaths. The suspect, a 32-year-old white male with a history of mental health issues and a criminal record, fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, crashed it, then stole another car before being apprehended by police after being tasered. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third died after being transported to a hospital. Authorities have blocked access to vehicles in the Target parking lot until the investigation is complete and have closed nearby roads to facilitate the ongoing investigation. Austin Mayor Kirk Watson expressed his condolences to the victims' families, describing the incident as devastating. The investigation remains active, with police reviewing surveillance footage to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
