Federal and Private Aid for Hurricane Helene Recovery

In response to Hurricane Helene's impact on Western North Carolina, multiple financial initiatives have been launched for recovery. The Truist Foundation, in collaboration with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, is providing over $20 million in grants for housing and small business recovery, part of a broader $725 million commitment. This complements over $1.65 billion in federal disaster relief funds, including Community Development Block Grants for rebuilding infrastructure and supporting small businesses. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Transportation has allocated $352.6 million for emergency road and bridge repairs. These collective efforts aim to rebuild the region and support long-term resilience, with collaboration from local and federal agencies and private sector contributions.
